Store / Mart Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Store/Mart Operations Manager to lead the end-to-end setup and launch of a new retail store/mart, and to establish the operational systems, standards, and team that will run it going forward. This is a founding role — you will build the store from the ground up, from site readiness through grand opening and into steady-state operations.

Store Setup & Launch
• Plan and oversee store layout, shelving, planogram design, and merchandising flow for optimal customer experience and sales
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and vendors for fit-out, signage, POS systems, refrigeration, and equipment installation
• Manage pre-opening timelines, budgets, and vendor negotiations
• Set up initial inventory sourcing, supplier agreements, and stock levels ahead of launch
• Recruit, hire, and train the opening store team

Operational Systems & Best Practices
• Design and implement SOPs for inventory management, stock replenishment, cash handling, and loss prevention
• Set up POS and inventory management systems appropriate for the local market (considering connectivity, power reliability, and cost)
• Establish supplier relationships with local wholesalers, markets, and importers, including terms suited to Cambodia's cash/credit norms
• Implement pricing, promotions, and shrinkage-control practices
• Ensure compliance with Cambodian labor law, business licensing, tax (VAT/patent tax), and Ministry of Commerce requirements

Team & Daily Operations
• Build and manage a roster of cashiers, shelf staff, and supervisors; set shift schedules
• Train staff on customer service, hygiene/food safety (if applicable), and safety procedures
• Monitor daily sales, cash reconciliation, and KPIs (sales per sqm, footfall, shrinkage rate, stock turnover)
• Handle customer complaints and ensure service quality standards

Reporting & Continuous Improvement
• Provide regular reports to management on sales performance, costs, and operational issues
• Recommend improvements based on sales data and customer feedback
• Build relationships with local authorities (commune, police) and community as needed for smooth operations
