Market Facilitator
- The Market Facilitator will be responsible for enhancing input/output market access and linkages for smallholder farmers engaged in horticulture. This role involves building relationships with various stakeholders in the horticulture value chain, including farmers, buyers, and agribusinesses, to create sustainable market opportunities.
- Market Linkages and Business Relationships
- Build and maintain relationships with farmers, agricultural cooperatives, buyers, traders, input suppliers, service providers and other agribusinesses.
- Identify practical market opportunities for horticulture products and facilitate connections between farmers/ACs and potential buyers.
- Support dialogue and negotiation between farmers, ACs and buyers on product requirements, quality, volume, delivery schedules and commercial arrangements.
- Facilitate B2B meetings, market visits, networking events and other activities that create business opportunities.
- Help identify and address practical barriers affecting farmers' access to markets, inputs, technologies and services.
- Agribusiness and Cooperative Support
- Support agricultural cooperatives and local agribusinesses to strengthen business relationships and improve their market orientation.
- Assist ACs and other market actors to understand buyer requirements, market demand, quality standards and business opportunities.
- Work with input suppliers and service providers to expand farmers' access to appropriate agricultural inputs, technologies and services.
- Encourage sustainable commercial relationships that can continue beyond direct project support.
- Market Information and Learning
- Gather practical information on horticulture markets, including products, prices, demand, buyers, suppliers, services and emerging opportunities.
- Share market intelligence with farmers, ACs and the GROWTH team to support business and production decisions.
- Identify promising market actors, business models and partnerships that could benefit smallholder farmers.
- Document market-linkage activities, emerging results, challenges and lessons.
- Coordination and Field Implementation
- Work closely with the GROWTH technical team, government partners, private-sector actors and other stakeholders.
- Participate in field activities, meetings and project events as required.
- Support monitoring of market-linkage results, including business relationships, sales, services accessed and benefits to farmers.
- Contribute to regular project planning and reporting.
- OTHER
- Develop a good understanding of iDE-Cambodia’s and iDE-International’s development approach.
- Represent iDE in communications with clients, partners, donors, the public and others as required.
