The Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) is a Cambodian non-for-profit research institution established in 1953, IPC is today a scientific research establishment declared of public utility placed under the high patronage of the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Cambodia and under the responsibility of the Institute Pasteur on the scientific and technical levels. The IPC is a member of the Pasteur Network, which brings together 33 institutes present on five continents. It shares the Pasteurian values and the ethical charter to which the Pasteur Institutes are bound. The IPC has more than 300 employees, including about 30 expatriates of 22 nationalities and includes 6 research units. It carries out research activities in health biology, public health and service activities (Medical Biology Laboratory, vaccinations and water and food analyses) and training.

The lnstitut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) is recruiting a full-time <b>Deputy Head of Laboratory of Environment and Food Safety</b>, based in Phnom Penh.

<b>Position Overview:</b>
<b>The Deputy Head of the Laboratory of Environment and Food Safety </b> at the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) supports the Head of Laboratory in providing scientific, technical and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality testing services in the fields of environmental, food and water safety.

The position assists in coordinating daily laboratory operations, supervising staff, maintaining technical excellence, and ensuring compliance with national and international standards, including ISO/IEC 17025. The Deputy Head also contributes to the implementation and continuous improvement of the laboratory quality management system, staff development, method validation, and resource planning.

In the absence of the Head of Laboratory, the Deputy Head may act on their behalf and represent the laboratory when delegated. The position contributes to IPC's mission to protect and improve public health by supporting reliable laboratory services, food safety, environmental monitoring and public health surveillance in Cambodia.

<b>Main responsibilities:</b>
<b>The Deputy Head of the Laboratory of Environment and Food Safety </b> at the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) supports the Head of Laboratory in providing scientific, technical and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of high- quality testing services in the fields of environmental, food and water safety.

The main responsibilities of the <b>Deputy Head of Laboratory</b> include:
- Supervision on general lab activities to ensure smoothly workflow
- Supervision on lab inventory by managing well external stock and purchase order
- Supervision of trainees
- Updating the price list annually
- Participation in lab internal and external audit
- Validate and authorization of test report results
- Prepare monthly workplan for all staffs
- Supervise of new methods setting up in the laboratory
- Supervise of research projects
- Supervise on equipment verification, control, and maintenance
- Participate in management review
- Head lab replacement when he/she is absence
- Other tasks appointed by Head lab
